Many of us love reading books but we cannot carry all books everywhere we go. Hence E-books has become handy to all enthusiasts. We can also call this method as Digital publishing. Digital publishing is a booming market. For a decade, since the Amazon Kindle was released in 2007, books have captivated audiences via mobile devices.
Information changes rapidly and literature on many subjects, especially education, can become dated as soon as it hits mass distribution. eBooks, on the other hand, can be quickly and easily kept current, making these purchases appealing because they are far more likely to contain the most up-to-the-minute information available, saving the consumer time and money in the long run.
Interactive textbooks have features that give students the power to gather information as they read by having a more engaging experience with the words on the page. This more conversational content with links to websites and other resources creates a multi-media interface that deepens the scope of a traditional textbook and engages the learner in investigative education.
Reader analytics allow publishers to collect, organize and index content from multiple sources and systematically analyze user logs to learn behaviors. This data can inform decision making about pricing, content organization, and more.
As with all emerging technologies, there are challenges in the market. As in the long term textbook industry is going to stabilize there are challenges of free and open materials. Publishers has to justify the customers why their product is worth of money. This creates the problem for most of the educational institutions. Universities must come up with innovative ideas.
Digital publishing has both pros and cons. But we have more pros here. Future generation can expect them in all levels of education.
We will see some of the e-readers available in the market.
Amazon’s various Kindles have long been the most popular e-book readers on the market. Kindle Voyage is the best ebook reader available in the market.
Features:
The Voyage measures 6.4 by 4.5 by 0.30 inches (HWD) and weighs 6.3 ounces (or 6.6 ounces for the 3G model).
The Voyage’s front light is adaptive, so if you select the Auto Brightness setting, it will automatically adjust based on the light around you. Readers mostly tend to read on the subway and in coffee shops, which have vastly different lighting scenarios and helps them in such situation.
Another cool feature is that Amazon claims the brightness is tuned to match the way the eye responds to darkness. So if you’re reading in the dark, you’ll need a brighter light at first than you will after reading for 30 minutes, so the light will slowly turn down over time.
For file support, the Voyage can handle Amazon’s own Kindle format (AZW and AZW3), along with DOC, DOCX, HTML, MOBI, PDF, and TXT files.
The kindle voyage costs nearly 200$.
