Minorities and The Justice System
Throughout the course, you have learned about issues related to multiculturalism, diversity, and criminal justice. Consider what you have learned so far about minority groups and their interactions with the criminal and juvenile justice system. Then, write a paper addressing the following requirements.

Craft a 5-paragraph essay according and conforming to the following structure:
A cover page in APA format.
Paragraph 1: Identify one minority group you learned about in this course and briefly summarize issues that group faces with respect to the criminal or juvenile justice system.

Paragraphs 2: Identify one community relations program related to the minority group and issues you discussed in the first paragraph. If you are interested in an existing community relations program, identify that program, research that program, then discuss that program here. If the community relations program you are interested in does not exist (you need to verify this with research), propose a new program. Describe it here.

Writing Requirements
Your essay must use the APA Template attached to these assignment instructions and included in the Course Introduction: APA & You Module to receive credit. Failure to use the APA Template, and personalize it to your paper, will result in a loss of points on your writing assignment.
Your document must be submitted as a Microsoft Word file (with a .doc or .docx file extension) via the submission link above to receive a grade. Any assignment not submitted as a Word document in APA format will not be graded, per the course syllabus. If I cannot open, view, and submit comments on your assignment, you will receive a zero. Any assignment not submitted via the designated submission link will receive a zero.
Your document must be double-spaced using Times New Roman 12-point font with 1-inch margins.
Proofread your document to eliminate mechanical and grammatical errors.
You do not need subheadings in the body of your paper or an abstract for papers in this class.
For citations and references, follow APA format. See the Course Introduction: APA & You Module for examples. You must cite at least your textbook using parenthetical citations and references in APA format. Be sure to also cite any other sources you use.
Minimize the amount of direct quotes you use and focus on writing in your own words. A Turnitin similarity report of 30% or more (meaning at least 30% of your paper is similar to other sources, i.e. not in your own words) will result in a zero on your writing assignment. Note that even though you write in your own words (summarizing and paraphrasing what you read), you still must properly cite all sources to avoid plagiarizing – these are two separate requirements. Any student who has a similarity report over the accepted 30% can face formal action by FSCJ, according to the Academic Dishonesty policy in the course syllabus.
Remember that this is not a subjective essay—there should not be any personal opinion or experiences expressed here, and all information should be shared in an academic and respectful manner. Do not use personal pronouns (I, me, we, us, you, etc.) in academic writing.
