Theoretical and empirical process

Use the theory that you developed in week two. Improve it by using the information you have obtained in the intervening weeks. Use the Conceptual – Theoretical – Empirical Model (CTE) to link the operational definitions with the empirical indicators with the theoretical concepts and the conceptual model components. Post your revised theory and explain how you would measure the concepts and proposition in a research study.

Length: A minimum of 250 words, not including references
Citations: At least one high-level scholarly reference in APA from within the last 5 years
As we go into Week 5, you will use the CTE model to improve the theory you used in week 2. Let me know if you have questions. This video might help you differentiate between concept and empirical models. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8GBWSNzJzo

Week 2 discussion

When I think of theories, one special that comes to my mind is the first theory we study at school. Newton’s Law of Motion. Sir Newton created three Laws that have been the base of many experiments and theories for centuries to today.

The First Law states that “A body at rest will remain at rest and a body in motion will remain in motion unless an external force acts it” (Lucas, 2017). Here, the preposition in motion means that things cannot starts, stop, or move by themselves. An outside force will cause that object to change its stated or activity. We also have the Second Law states that “The forced acting on an object is equal to the mass of that object times its acceleration.” This Law is commonly used in physics and chemistry for magnitude and direction related to motion, for this case, velocity from the object or force that was causing the movement.

The last calls Third Law, states, “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction” In this case, the action of each forced when an object is a move. Is another force pushing against since forced occurs in pairs according to movement, mass and force. Examples that we can use every day when we walk but is the air push against us. When we reposition a patient of caring and object from the floor, we use gravity and the law of motion many times without even think about it. A big misconception on Newton’s Law is the idea that sustaining movement requires a continued force. For example when we ride a bicycle the motion of the same depend on position if it’s in a hill the bicycle go back or front with without a continuous force.
