For this assignment, you will create a media-use diary. The objective of this assignment is to reflect on the amount of time and purposes for which you use different types of media.
1. First, create a chart outlining your media use through the course of one day (you can either reflect on the past 24 hours, or for a more accurate account, track your media use as you go through your day).
Include the time and duration of the media use in one column, the medium used and the content in the second column, and your motivation for using this media in the third column (an example is provided on the next page).

4. List the three assumptions of the uses-and-gratification approach. Reflect on your media- use chart and address whether or not you notice each of these three assumptions in your own media use.

5. Unit 3 also covered how media helps us develop our identities as explained by the media practice model and SESAM model. Consider your own experience growing up with media. Did the media you consumed help to shape your identity? How so? Provide an example.
